Sound Recovery is a structured, evidence-based music therapy program designed to support individuals navigating mental health challenges such as depression, anxiety, PTSD, stress, and other related conditions. Led by certified music therapists, this program offers a safe, expressive, and nurturing space where music becomes a powerful tool for self-discovery, emotional regulation, and healing.
Each session utilizes therapeutic music interventions to help participants process difficult emotions, develop coping mechanisms, and build resilience. You don't need any musical background or talent to participate—just an openness to explore the profound impact music can have on your well-being, and a willingness to engage in a supportive community.

Session Format
Structured & Trauma-Informed Format
Our program offers a supportive, 6-week rolling cycle where participants can join at any point, ensuring continuous access to a safe therapeutic environment. Sessions are weekly, 1-1.5 hours (e.g., Mondays 6:30–8pm via Zoom), designed to compassionately support individual mental health goals through trauma-informed facilitation.
Weekly Session Structure:
  1. Check-in & welcome (15 mins): Establishing a safe space and setting intentions.
  1. Evidence-based music therapy & creative expression (30 mins): Engaging with structured, mindful musical activities to process emotions and develop coping skills, integrating mindfulness and music.
  1. Sharing & peer support (30 mins): Fostering connection and validating experiences within a supportive community.
  1. Optional reflection/wind-down (15 mins): Consolidating insights and practicing self-regulation techniques.
Each week, we integrate evidence-based music therapy techniques within a flexible framework, ensuring dynamic content that promotes healing and supports specific mental health goals in a participant-driven and inspiring way.
Week 1 – Musical Identity & Emotional Awareness
Exploring Emotions through Musical Reflection
This session guides participants in using music as a tool to deeply explore their emotional landscape. By focusing on sounds and melodies, participants will learn to identify and articulate their feelings, recognize recurring emotional patterns, and begin cultivating a therapeutic relationship with music to enhance self-awareness.

Creative expression through music offers a safe and structured outlet for feelings that are often hard to verbalize, fostering deeper understanding and healing.

Participants will explore the physical and emotional benefits of rhythm and movement, learning how simple beats and bodily engagement can help them release tension and reconnect with their bodies during challenging moments.
